Philadelphia visit!!!

Philadelphia
I haven't been to Philly in a long long time maybe 8-9 years. Last time I went with my best-friend in college years, we then slept in a car since the hostel we booked was plain awful, if I remember correctly there was a rat running out of it... Hostels in United States are in so much worst shape compared to european hostels. I have never had a good experience staying in hostels here but in Europe I always stay in them.Well this is history now.
This time I am staying in Sofitel, can't wait to take a nice bath, enjoy complimentary robe and watch some cable. But most of all I am excited to go and explore the streets and vintage shops. I am going to vintage warehouse in Philadelphia hopefully it's a great place and I will be able to find some cute gems. I have been on a hunt for some floral pants for myself and 70s turtlenecks. I will post when I come back.

resort 2013

Ohhh thank goodness Gucci, I was about to start yawning if another heavy print on print would walk the runway. I love this masculine feel to Gucci's new collection...and the 70s are so feminine as well.
I love the style of these photographs too, simple and beautiful. There are some things hard to adjust...the shoes just too light for this collection but all together very optimistic and hopefully ending the heavy pattern on pattern fashion
What do you think?

Another front runner for me is Celine with the collection for resort 2013, I love the vintage scarf pattern/print although not solely Celine I believe Chloe also had similiar idea...but seriously how does that happen? Nonetheless I love this collection:

and Chloe is just sooooo wearable...love it!

Thanksgiving movie night "The Women" 1939

seriously this blouse is priceless and the funny part they did not have support bras almost makes all the fashion in this movie even better.

Over the Thanksgiving break I got to see " The Women" a 1939 fantastic movie by George Cukor. It's like watching sex and the city from the 30s. The fashion is to die for, designed by Adrian, I kept shouting " I want this, I need that". In the middle of this black and white movie there is a fashion show in technicolor with more Adrian's design.  I highly recommend this movie to anyone who likes old funny movies and vintage fashion.

ideas how to style pencil leather skirt

Pencil leather skirts can be so tricky to style, they often use matronly or plain boring but here are few ideas how to add some spice to them...socks and heels so cute, with turtleneck sweater so chic, some bold heavy color and a shirt let out simple but different and my personal favorite worn with a long sweater.

My Pictures

I have been asked few times how do I photograph clothing for my shop. I figure I can share my equipment and some small tips with you.
Most of the pictures I take for my shop are taken indoors. It can be very challenging at times but very practical and time saving. I try to avoid shadows and make sure the colors are matching the real life.
My camera is nothing very expensive. It's a basic SLR, NIKON D3100. I have had it for about 6 months now and I had the same one before. It's very easy to use. I do not use the flash that came with camera. I bought Sunpak auto 144 PC on ebay for about 20$, the flash makes a huge difference when it comes to photographing indoors. I always use manual setting on my camera and sometimes I play around with settings.
I do have a tripod and I used to model myself for the majority of my photographs but I have moved to a different space and I have had issues with finding the right place to stand without having have to crop a lot of space. These days I invite a friend for some wine and it works out better this way. I do prefer a model to dress form but most days its just easier to use the dress form.
I hope I answered some of your questions. Let me know if you would like more details on actual photo-taking.
